Last month I shared a Christian parenting book I found inspiring. This month I have another Christian inspired book just for moms. This book had me soaking up every piece of advice and scripture to help with my relationships with other moms.

Better Together Because You’re Not Meant to Mom Alone by Jill Savage is a book that has me thinking of all my mom friends in my life. Jill gets real by revealing stories and experiences from not only herself but from other moms. If you haven’t read any of Jill’s books, I highly recommend this one. Reading this book makes you want to invite a couple of your mom friends over for a cup of tea and end the get together with a big group hug!
In this book, Jill also includes her daughter Anne to the discussion. They both share heartfelt conversations about how to build your mommy tribe, how to deepen your relationships, and how to strengthen and encourage each other. Through this book you can take a closer look at yourself in terms of being part of a group instead of being all alone. I love all the quotes, scripture, and challenges throughout this book. It creates a great tool for applying what Jill has to teach you.
A quote from the book that struck a chord with me:
“God often communicates through his people. That’s why it’s valuable to have spiritually strong friends.” – pg 159
I’m just about finished with the whole book. I’ve been using it in the mornings so I can read it in peace before the kids wake up. It’s been my devotional and guide to help me sort my thoughts and feelings about my friends and their needs before entering into prayer. This book is exactly the right book for my season of life- building a community of moms who need each other. I am devouring every word and idea to be the kind of friend God wants me to be.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book in return for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
