Welcome to the first What’s Working Wednesday! On Wednesdays I’ll be sharing what’s working in our homeschool. It could be a lesson, a teaching strategy, or anything I feel was a huge success during our week.
This week I asked my little Pixie (7) what her favorite thing about school was that day. Her eyes lit up and she said, “The cave game!” It took me a minute to recall what game she was talking about since she rarely says one of the lessons was her favorite activity.
The game she was talking about is “How Many Frogs In A Cave” math game I had read about on Tunstall’s Teaching Tidbits. It’s a great game to play in a small group or one on one. It only takes about 10-15 minutes. Here’s what you need:
Counting frogs ( counting bears, or any other type of manipulative)
white board (or paper but white boards are more fun)
white board marker (or pencil)
This game would also be great to work with subtraction. Any grade level would benefit from this game. I hope you’ve enjoyed our video and hope you’ll give it a try! I’d also love to hear what’s been working for you this week. Just leave a comment below!
