We only have a few days left until Christmas break. We have so much to do around this time of year. Christmas crafts, Christmas parties, and oh yes: Lesson Plans! I was able to sit down and make a little Christmas themed contraction game for one of my firsties who’s ready to move on to another skill. During RTI I’ve been working on tackling sight words with some of my first graders, but this little guy needed something a little more challenging. Since contractions will be our next big skill to tackle, I went ahead and made up a little puzzle game to assess what he knew.
All you have to do is print, laminate, and cut apart. I also included a recording sheet for accountability.
He really loved working on this activity and was very proud of himself when he was finished! It took him about 15 minutes to complete, which was the perfect amount of time for me to work with my sight word group. I’m going to add this game to my December centers for next year. This game is FREE in my blog store!
I’m also excited to add that my 2nd Math Journal Pages Packet is now uploaded in my store! It has a lot of the math skills from this semester and has been a great way to assess and practice our everyday math lessons.
