Mason Jar Christmas Light

Are you struggling to find an easy craft for your kids to make for Christmas?

Every December teachers are scrambling for simple, inexpensive ideas for parent gifts.  I’ve finally found one with only a couple of days to spare!

There are so many ideas floating around out there.  I tend to get a bit overwhelmed but thankfully I found a really easy yet beautiful craft that was tied into a post I found on Las Posadas.  This craft is so easy that all of my kiddos (PreK-3rd grade) will be able to make one for their parents.  Here’s how to do it.

Christmas Light

Gather up your supplies.

Christmas Lights 1

Pull the napkin apart so you you have one thin layer of the decorative part of the napkin.  Then cut it up into fourths.

Christmas Light 2

Now for the messy part.  Set the jar and Modge Podge on a paper plate.  Quickly paint a couple of strokes of Modge Podge onto the jar.

Christmas Light 3

Start adding the pieces of napkin around the jar.  Add as much Modge Podge as you need.

Once it’s all covered you can go over it with a light amount of Modge Podge to secure the napkin and to smooth out any wrinkles.

Turn on your tea light candle and drop it down into the jar.

Christmas Light 5

Super easy and a beautiful gift for parents, teachers, or neighbors!

My kids love these!

I have my Christmas Light sitting on the mantle and it looks lovely in the evenings with the glow of the Christmas tree.
